Adobe Connect and Flash Movie Presentations

We have been working with one of our customers on delivering an on line sales tool using the Adobe Connect environment. They for the usual legal reasons wished to use a sales aid they had already created. This was a flash based CD-rom with various flash movies initiated by rollovers and buttons.

But there was two problems:
1. The index would not work i.e. the menu page appeared but the subsequent movies and animations could not be found

2. The click throughs and rollovers would not synchronizes, i.e. if the presenter moved forward through the presentation the participants did not.

Both of these obviously make it useless.

After over three weeks of R&D we (David Kwaw , Steve Grovenor and J ) have developed a bespoke piece of programing, based on Sync SWF

That solves this issue, we have since refined the coding so that ONLY the presenter has control of the flash presentation, making it more like Adobe Presenter just ALOT more flexible and better looking.

Yo pardner.... are you out there?

Hey Jol, you there?

Let me introduce you to Jolyon, my business partner. He's the other half of Box Bear and the brains of the outfit. He is also the one you could have an extensive conversation with about dark matter or quantum mechanics, not to mention a plethora of other New Scientist type topics!!

Take a bow, Jol!!

Blog Number One.... first of many!!!

Hey you guys!! Welcome to the first Box Bear Blog (from now on to be known as BBB)!! We have arrived and hopefully so have you.

I'm Steve, I'm one half of Box Bear. I won't go into too much detail about what we do (anyway you can see that above), but I'm hoping that this will become somewhere that people of a similar mind will come to hang out, chat, share best practise (eeeugh), chat about potential jobs, commission work (that is after all what BB is all about) and generally shoot the breeze. They'll be videos (I hope), cartoons, discussions about films, training organised amongst the wider BBB community and hopefully lots of hilarity (who says to be in business you have to be a square)?

Feel free to join in, suggest blog ideas/subjects. Who remembers what Bob Hoskins used to say on that old BT ad?!? It's good to blog!!
